Living History Tours of the Grouard Historical Village
Run by the Northern Lakes College, the Grouard Historical Village is a heritage site that educates visitors on the history of the area, with a main focus on the lifestyles of local Aboriginal people. The village is mainly used for school groups but during the summer a limited number of pre-booked guided tours are available for tourist groups.

Historic Abasand Walk
Two or three times each summer Fort McMurray's Oil Sands Discovery Centre offers guided tours of one of the oldest oil sands plants in the area. Participants must pre-register for the walks, which take approximately two hours and travel 10 km (6.2 mi) from the centre to Abasand Oils Limited.
