    Peace River Musem, Archives and Mackenzie Centre
    This museum features displays on First Nations culture, the history of the fur trade, exploration and settlement in the area, and northern transportation. Hours of Operation: Monday to Saturday 10am to 4:30pm. Closed Sundays and holidays. Admission: $2 per patron.

    Brownvale North Peace Agricultural Museum
    Learn about Alberta's agricultural history at this museum in Brownvale. Visitors can view farm machinery and agriculture equipment, some dating back to the early 1900s. Amenities include free parking, washrooms, snack shop and wheelchair accessibility.

    Grande Prairie Museum
    The Grande Prairie Museum presents the history and prehistory of Grande Prairie and the Peace River Region. Travelling exhibits, a community showcase, as well as 10 heritage buildings help to round out the museum. The museum also is a cornerstone for special events such as holiday celebrations and festivals.

    Native Cultural Arts Museum
    15 km north on Secondary Hwy 750 off of Hwy #2 travelling west. This area and Grouard is one of the oldest settlements in Alberta. Visit the Native Cultural Arts Museum for the history of Grouard and view displays of North American Native art works and artifacts. Located in the Northern Lakes College' Moosehorn Lodge. Included in tours is the St. Bernard Mission Church was built in 1901 by Father Emile Grouard. The church houses old liturgical vestments as well as artifacts and is still in use. Sunday services. Located at the west end of Lesser Slave Lake. There is a small fee for school groups and pre-bookings must be made. Fall/Winter/Spring Hours (September through May): Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Summer Hours(June through August): Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (Closed for lunch). Please call ahead. Closed during December.

    Nar Golden Coach Museum
    A railway museum with artifacts from the days of the steam engines and especially with history of the Northern Alberta Railway which played a large part in the history of McLennan and area. The old Golden Coach from the passenger era is the focal point with a caboose and various antique track vehicles are also on display. It provides a nice stop for a rest at adjacent to the Kimiwan Birdwalk with picnic tables and deck available for the visitors free use. Open May 1 - August 31, times vary per season.

    Mackenzie Crossroads Heritage Museum
    This museum and interpretive centre offers a glimpse into the Peace Country's past. Featuring a recreated trading post with over 1800 artifacts, a number of displays and art exhibits, a science program and more, this centre is an excellent place to stop on a visit to High Level. Cultural events and other goings on are frequently part of the program too.

    Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village Museum
    Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village is a town to represent the 1920 to 1940's. The town includes 3 homes, postoffice, general store, barber shop, blacksmith shop, hall, church, school, office, farm yard, saw mill etc. All are full of artifacts. Pioneer days are the 2nd weekend of August with demostrations: threshing, sawmill, shingle mill, butter churning etc. Hours are Mon - Fri 10 am - 5 pm Sat & Sun 1 - 6.
